Language Development
No, Liam isn't talking yet. This week we've been reminded of how funny the process of language acquisition can be by some classic Nathan moments.
Earlier this week we were reading some Mother Goose and had a bit of a language mix-up when we got to Old Mother Hubbard.
For those of you who don't have Mother Goose Rhymes on the tip of your tongue:
Old Mother Hubbard
Went to the cupboard
To get her poor dog a bone;
But when she came there
The cupboard was bare,
And so the poor dog had none.
Nathan: But why did the Bear takes the dogs's bone?
Then yesterday Nathan wanted to play Pirates with Daddy.
Nathan: Dada, you be Matey. Let's go look for treasure!
Daddy: Aye aye matey.
Nathan: NO! I'm the Captain - YOU'RE Matey.
Weight Watchers
Three weeks old.
Liam now weighs 5lbs 3oz - past his birth weight of 4lb 12oz and a pound up from his lowest weight of 4lbs 3oz.
In a related countdown, I've lost the first 20lbs of baby weight - down from... a whole lot more than I've ever weight before... with still another 20 to go.
We're both moving in the right direction! Must be all that pumping / breastfeeding. Which is a success story I'll share at some point when I can find the brain cells needed for a post with real content.
