Christmas Cards come but once a year...
What I'd like to say is: "Even if we haven't spoken in months, or years, and the world is a mess right now, and its hard to see if it's getting better, so wishing anything seems kinda naive, I still wish all the best for you during this season and in the new year, but not with any of the pressure for the best to mean butterflies and rainbows all the time, because the guilt when real life isn't perfect just isn't worth it, and sometimes the rotten things are rotten but also a good time to grow, and we're also going to need to do something about this mess..."
Coming up with one line for the Christmas card to express all that gets harder and harder each year.
We landed on: "Wishing you joy this Christmas season, and for the new year peace & courage in equal measure."
