Pretty Amazing
(and maybe a bit of over sharing – you’ve been warned)
While trying to figure out how to go away for the weekend without any access to a freezer or easy access to a refrigerator with frozen breast milk that needs managing, we realized something pretty incredible:
Even though he was born 11 weeks early and aspirating kept him from ever breastfeeding exclusively and we pretty much stopped nursing when I back to work full time at the beginning of July, except for those three frustrating weeks with that stupid thickener back in May, Nathan is a breast milk fed baby. It’s been almost 8 months and the supply still hasn’t run out. Even with the recent addition of solids, I don’t think the milk will last to his first birthday, but it’s still pretty amazing. I guess all that pumping was worth it.

I am so impressed with you. Like way over the top impressed. I see moms with breastfeeding issues all the time (most recently from some pretty complicated medical issues that are requiring a long NICU stay not unlike Nathan), and I am so impressed with how you've managed to pull this off. Surprised? No. Impressed? Absolutely. Keep on being awesome.
