For those thinking about commenting

Who am I kidding? The Archibalds are the only ones who comment - they’re real bloggers. But in case the recently added need to provide your email address is making you even less likely to comment, please know that it is simply a way to make sure spam messages don’t hit the blog.

Remember this?

May 2012
Dear Friends,

If you stopped reading our family blog because it was infecting your computer or sending you sex videos, please rest assured that this problem has been fixed and you can now keep up with our adventures in peace. But I have to ask, WHY DID NO ONE TELL US?? I know we use cloth diapers and made our own baby food, but those things are practically the norm these days – did you really think we’d gone that far off the deep end that we would have sex videos along side photos of our son? Geeze!

Yah, we don’t want that to happen again. So now you have to provide your email address and then we tell the blog that you’re okay to comment and to let you post whatever you want and hope that you weren’t the one spamming us.

Of course this public service announcement leads me to wonder if anyone’s even reading. If nothing else, we’ll have a great family history to share with our grandchildren. Right, like there’s any chance we’ll be able to keep this up that long… The internet probably won’t even exist by the time we have grandchild. “Blogs? what are those? Did dinosaurs blog Grandma?”

Yup, we're reading! But whatever the internet turns into in years to come, the real purpose of blogging is to make something you enjoy reading yourself. That's my theory, anyways, and watch out when I start browsing my own blog just before bedtime... those are some good stories there, and they can distract me for hours! I'm sure nobody else is quite as enthralled, but that's fine with me!
